Caller GMT Independent GMT hand, picked out in a contrasting color, tracks a second time zone and can be set in one-hour increments without disturbing local time. ​ Automatic winding Self-winding through the motion of the wrist, with manual winding via the crown. Bidirectional Magic Lever system, Seiko's mechanism patented in 1959. Hacking seconds The seconds hand stops when the crown is pulled, so the watch can be set to the exact second. ​Hands All four configurations carry BGW9 luminous coating on the hour and minute hands. POLAR, ABYSS, and TROPIC carry a broad squared handset. PACIFIC carries a broad baton handset with rectangular markers for a cleaner maritime read. ​ 24-hour bezel Bidirectionally rotating 24-hour bezel insert, offered in bi-color or solid configurations depending on the variant.   Exhibition case-back Sapphire window over the NH34 movement. The 316L ring is engraved with the studio name and coordinates. The cohort year is set below the movement. BGW9 lume Ice-blue glow in low light on the hour and minute hands, hour markers, and bezel pip.
